Theological Methodology

Madina Institute seeks to bring hope, growth, and opportunity to all human beings as a place of deep theological reflection.  We understand that people can be both seekers of knowledge and believers of faith, each solidifying the other. Madina Institute is a place where your spiritual journey will flourish and help you go deeper into your faith to serve humanity.

Vision

We, at Madina Institute, believe that every human being is uniquely created and called for a compelling purpose. We are committed to helping students discover, develop, and deploy their calling.

We, at Madina institute, believe that every human being is created with the potential to achieve. We are committed to helping students excel in every area of pursuit, especially in their area of unique gifting.

We, at Madina Institute, strive to pursue righteousness as presented in the Sacred Texts; The Qur’an, and Authentic Prophetic Sunnah. In other words, we will make every effort to balance grace and truth and ultimately point students to the person and message of Muhammad (peace be upon him).

We, at Madina Institute, seek to create a healthy educational environment that is nurturing, empowering, loving, and positive; where students can grow, develop, and maximize their potential.

Together, we will strive to energize and equip each student to succeed in whatever path Allah (Glorified and Exalted); The Creator, facilitates. Our desire is to see our students transform themselves, their communities, and the world, and become purposeful, productive and spiritual Muslim adults.

Theological Methodology and Approach

General Methodology

Madina Institute believes in and practices the methodology of Ahlus Sunnah in Usul, Hadith sciences and Ihsan (Tazkiyah/purification of the heart).

Theological Methodology and Approach (Manhaj)

Believes in the absolute prioritization of the Divine Texts (Qur’an and Authentic Sunnah) over any and everything. Then, Ijma’ and Textually evidenced Qiyas (aqyisatu-l illa al-mansus alayha).

The Qur’an and Sunnah are revealed by The Most Compassionate, Creator of All, and no other entity or text can be as unconditionally loving, forgiving, compassionate, and inclusive. We are all His after all.

Core Principle

Non-Violence and Unconditional Compassion for All

Perfect in being imperfect. Madina Institute believes in “Back to Basics” as far as Dawah for one’s self and for others. We strongly believe that Islam is based on a firmly non-violent message and love, and therefore tries to teach the peaceful, loving, inclusive, and compassionate message of Islam.

Tradition must be distinguished from religion. Thinking, not just blindly following, is key. Unconditional compassion is the foundational cornerstone of our Deen. Violence, whether verbal, intellectual, or physical, is contrary to the core Message of Islam. Islam came with the strongest message of non-violence ever. Violence is the language of the inarticulate. If you can’t articulate your opponent’s points as well as you articulate your own, then you haven’t even started. Treat others as you would like to be treated. Afford all human beings unconditional compassion, kindness, and dignity, regardless of background. If you are only good to those who are good to you, then what good are you?

Love Allah. Love People.
