Our Sunday School program puts children on a life-long journey of learning their deen. As with Madina Institute’s core education philosophy, instruction at Deen Academy is rooted firmly in the Quran and the authentic Sunnah.
While the current pandemic has caused a significant disruption in how we all live, work and socialize, it has a particularly stressful impact on the lives of our children. While they may not show or verbalize it overtly, the anxiety they may experience cannot be underestimated. Therefore, in these challenging times, it becomes even more important that we enable our children to strengthen their connection with Allah Ta’la and Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم.
This year we are changing Deen Academy to an online platform using Zoom. For our younger children (Levels 1-3 – Grades 3-8) the focus will be on Islamic Studies, covering topics in the areas of Fiqh, ‘Aqidah, Islamic History and Seerah.
Additionally, to help our children through this time of the pandemic, we will engage students in conversations around why Allah puts us through challenges, the types of behaviors he wants to see from us in times of adversity, how Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم handled challenging situations, and the Dua’s he made to Allah for help.
For the teens (Level 4 – Grades 9-12) we will focus on Seerah and how we apply learnings from the life of Rasulallah صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم to the present day, Hadith, and Tafsir of Surah Al-Imran.
All our instructors are seasoned professionals as well as graduates of Madina Institute’s 1-year Islamic Studies program that is taught by Shaykh Dr. Muhammad bin Yahya al-Ninowy and other respected Shuyukh. They combine their in-depth knowledge of the deen with a strong desire to develop our children to be confident and knowledgeable young Muslims with the best of characters
